Who we are
KANCO is a regional membership network of NGOs, CBOs, FBOs, Private Sector actors, Research and Learning Institutions as well as associate membership that includes individuals and International Non-Governmental Organizations involved in or that have interest in HIV& AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB) and other public health care concerns. Established in 1990, KANCO has over 1200 members, with implementing partners in Burundi, Seychelles, Mauritius, Uganda, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Zanzibar. KANCO is also in partnership with different regional and global advocacy networks such as ACTION and RESULTS.
Job summary
The Program Manager will be in charge of KANCO’s programs and support in their overall management, oversight, working closely with projects Managers and the Regional coordinators.
The main activities undertaken during the reporting period include participation in planning and
consultative meetings, perception survey on use of security forces data collection, facilitation of
County Steering Group (CSG) meetings, media capacity assessment in County, community
engagements and mapping of gender-based violence service providers
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for providing strategic direction quality, integrated response, combination of information, sharing risk and reduction in the GBV programming
- Oversee community development projects to ensure goals and objectives of the GBV team are met.
- Manage and oversee the activities associated with supporting the provision of holistic care for GBV survivors as well as reduce the risk.
- Working with communication team, support and empower vulnerable women and legal GBV Survivors
- Lead and support in psychosocial support and empowerment in addressing GBV, SEAH activities
- Identification, selection of Perception Survey Data Collection Enumerators
- Implementation of the grievance redress mechanism
- Writing program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services.
- Managing a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities in a large with a large geographical span.
- Grant Management Support, including M&E and ensuring achievement of results.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelors in Gender studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, other related discipline from recognized Institution
- Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 8 years managing similar community development project with proven stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience managing a team.
- Knowledge in GBV, SEAH, language and culture issues in the pastoral community.
