The Kenyan Government has provided for health as a right in the Kenyan Constitution, and is a signatory to regional and global health declarations aimed at promoting quality and sustainable health care to its citizens. The attainment of this is often derailed by; absence of supportive legal framework, poor implementation of existing policies, inadequate resources to implement existing policies and emerging health issues that need policy formulation for effective response. Besides the national budget allocation to health has remained way below the recommended regional target of 15% with only about 4% of the total budget allocated top health. This continues to put the countries health agenda at the mercy of donor funding. KANCO in its advocacy plan will work towards realizing three core policy results that will promote quality and sustainable access to health care services.
