At the beginning of 2014 KANCO adopted and initiated the grassroots movement that aims at creating county grassroots chapters in the country.  The county chapters made of citizen advocates is intended to empower grassroots citizens to reach out to their elected leaders on issues that concern them.  KANCO started by creating 11 grassroots chapters in the year 2014 in Kericho, Kisumu, Kwale, Kiambu, Kajiado, Molo, Nakuru East, Nairobi, Nyandarua and Nyeri counties.

Through the grassroots model KANCO trains advocates from the created chapters on how to advocate and lobby for health in Kenya. As a result, the grassroots advocates have been engaging their elected leaders. Most successful was the advocacy day in August 20, 2014.  This involved the grassroots advocates who had an opportunity to voice out their concern about 300,000 Kenyan children who were not protected by cost effective vaccines in 2013 and TB first line drugs stock outs.  As a result, Parliament discussed the two health issues and at the end of advocacy, The National Treasury approved a reallocation of KES 202 million and KES 286 million to Kenya Expanded Programme for Immunization and procurement of TB drugs.
